What should I consider for sofa delivery?
- ✓ Measure the sofa as well as the doorways, stairwell turns and the lift in advance. A large corner sofa doesn't always fit in a small lift, in which case it's carried up the stairs.
- ✓ Say in your quote request whether the sofa can be taken apart (for example removable legs, armrests or modules) and who will do it.
- ✓ Give the floor and lift at both addresses and the carrying distance from the van to the door. These often affect the price more than the driving distance.
- ✓ If the sofa is collected from a shop or flea market, agree a pick-up time with the seller and mention it in your quote request.
- ✓ Ask whether the driver brings protective covers. A fabric sofa is worth protecting, especially in the rain.
Taking away an old sofa

- ✓ Waste stations usually charge a fee for large furniture, which the transport company may invoice separately. Ask whether the fee is included in the quote.
